Eastbay Paratransit Helps Deliver Meals on Wheels

Shelter-in-place orders, due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, is adversely affecting Meals on Wheels’ vitally needed services. Currently, its volunteer drivers, who are mostly seniors, are unable to deliver food to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. TO assist the need, some Eastbay Paratransit drivers will now temporarily assist with deliveries. Paratransit drivers have undergone considerable background checks and behind-the-wheel safety training. Our drivers are also well trained in positive interactions with seniors and persons with disabilities.

As an essential service, Eastbay Paratransit and its drivers are authorized to operate during the current pandemic. This collaboration benefits our communities, those in need, and keeps Eastbay Paratransit drivers working.

Eastbay Paratransit is a partnership between AC Transit and BART, providing shared-ride transportation to persons unable to access bus or train service due to their disabilities. Serving the East Bay since 1996, Eastbay Paratransit welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the community, during these challenging days, and continues transportation service for our riders...

Please call (510) 287-5000 to make a reservation, today!
